The longest section of track is 36 feet and the heaviest weighs 7,700 pounds. The 98 Manta track sections will be set upon 100 columns, the tallest being more than 26 feet. Manta, SeaWorld’s new double launch coaster shaped like a giant manta ray, will open to guests in spring 2012. Today marks a major milestone in the construction of Manta: the first section of track was set into place! A total of 98 sections will be placed in the coming months, with most of the sections installed by the end of the year.
